Kiwanis Dinner with Sandra Warren In-Person
Come share a meal with the Kiwanis Club of Kings Mountain, catered by Linwood Produce & Restaurant, and featuring Sandra Warren, the author of "We Bought a WWII Bomber."
From 1943 comes the extraordinary true story of junior and senior high students from South High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan who raised over $375,000 selling War Bonds and War Stamps and bought a B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber to help support the war effort. They christened it The Spirit of South High and watched as it flew off to war never to be heard from again,until now. Seventy-two years later, thanks to the curiosity of two alumni, the mystery of what happened to the bomber has been solved.
