Pumpkin pickup begins Tuesday, Oct. 5 (while supplies last)

Contest ends Friday, Oct.22

The Mauney Memorial Library’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest is for all ages and is an extension of the 7th Annual Somethin’ Pumpkin Cooking Contest & Festival.

Complete the registration form and drop it off at the library when you pick up your pumpkin. If you prefer, you may email your registration form to info@mauneylibrary.org.

Pick up your pumpkin at Mauney Memorial Library beginning Tuesday, October 5th, while supplies last. You are welcome to purchase your own pumpkin, but please keep the size of your pumpkin to under 8 lbs.

Decorate your pumpkin to portray the characters or scenes from Charlotte’s Web, by E.B. White, or from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle.

NO CARVING ALLOWED.

Your pumpkin must be based on one of these children’s book/characters to be eligible to win.

Return your decorated pumpkin to Mauney Memorial Library no later than Friday, October 22nd. The first five submissions for both book themes will receive a free book!

Contest winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 27th. There will be a winner in each of these categories: Mayor’s Choice Award for Grades K - 2, Grades 3 - 5, Family, and Teen/Adult.

In addition, library patrons will be able to vote for the “People’s Choice” winner the week of October 18th-22nd.

Pumpkins will be on display in the Harris Children’s Wing at Mauney Memorial Library.
